It is three years since the new building of the National Library of Latvia (NLL) – Gaismas pils – the Castle of Light – was opened, during which time the library has attracted both domestic and international public attention. The building, nurtured by Latvian-born architect Gunnar Birkerts (USA) has enabled the NLL to transform itself into a signpost for the city of Rīga and a contemporary global information and cultural centre.Every day, the library hosts a wide range of events – conferences, concerts, lectures – enriching Latvia's intellectual potential more and more. The library is now inviting attention to its first-rate exhibitions and today we want to particularly highlight NNL's latest exhibition.
